Glistening Water at Lee's Ferry

Glistening Water at Lees Ferry by Sally Anne Fischer, Oil, 6 x 8

Private Collection

Lees Ferry served as a military outpost for 19th-century settlements in Utah. It is now the point at which river flow is measured to determine water allocations in the Colorado River basin. Lee's Ferry is also managed as a trophy trout fishery and the entry place for river rafters adventuring through the Grand Canyon. The river is home to wild rainbow trout from 14 to 22 inches and larger.

I spent two days painting this iconic view of the Colorado River and came home with 5 unique paintings.
