Rose Bowl

Rose Bowl by Sally Anne Fischer, Oil, 12 x 10

Oil on Linen
12 x 10
Private Collection

Ready to hang with a French antique gold leaf oval frame dating back to the late 1800s.

This jar was made and used between 1830 and 1870. It was used to store leeches – a kind of worm that survives by sucking blood from other animals. Leeches were used in a medical procedure called blood-letting: as many as 50 leeches were applied to the patient's body, falling off when they were filled with blood.

Please reach out if you would like to collaborate with me in choosing a different frame that works beautifully in your home.
